Bronwynn Mertz-Penzinger

I was born in America, grew up in Australia and came to Austria in 1992.
I received my BA in Theater and Drama Studies in 1990 from Murdoch University in Perth Western Australia.

Since then I have worked on stage and screen (in German and English) as an actor and Improvisor with the English Lovers, Orcas Island Project and Vienna Theater Project amongst others, as well as being a CliniClown, Voice Over Artist and Acting Teacher. I have also had the joy of performing and teaching improvisation at countless renowned theater festivals all over the world.

My interest in the Feldenkrais Method began during my theater training and experience in performance, building on the principles of recognizing and releasing residual tension, knowing yourself and being more fully present in the moment.

I graduated from the Feldenkrais International Training Program (2015-2019) at the Feldenkrais Institute in Vienna. I then continued my studies in an advanced training program called Child’Space (2019-2021), created by Chava Shelhav, specializing in the needs and development of babies and children from birth to independent walking.

I teach Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons as part of the curriculum at the Vienna English Theater Academy (VETA) as well as open classes at Schule des Theaters. Since May 2020 I am also teaching classes online every Sunday via Zoom (www.b1feldenkrais.com) I am a qualified Pregnant Pauses® teacher and offer classes upon request. In 2019 I opened my private practice where I also offer individual Functional Integration lessons, as well as Child’Space sessions for families.

Currently I live in Vienna with my husband and 2 sons.
